Photography.

Ok, so I spent much of 2009 learning and becoming more experienced in photography. I shot family and senior portraits, took an intensive semester of black&white film photography at the college, sold a large number of my nature prints, shot images of all of my job's stock for their catalog, learned more advanced digital editing, documented a large number of my church's events in pictures, followed the websites of talented photographers, read up on various tutorials, talked to people I know who are in that field, etc.... Although I still have much to learn, I have improved in my technical skill and have also started to develop my own style. My family, friends, and even complete strangers have all provided helpful critique as well as a great deal of encouragement to move forward into starting a business. It is now 2010 (oh word!!) and I am officially starting up Joanna Joy Photography. My website is almost finished, my business card order is placed, my portfolio is coming together, and I am excited. ;) I will continue selling my nature prints, but I will also be moving more into portraits and eventually weddings. If this business doesn't go off well and I find that there is still a vast amount I need to learn, then I may go to Daytona State to earn a photography degree. At this point, however, I'm hoping to get this small, grass-roots business started off successfully and keep it going until (and maybe even after) I get married (whenever that is). We'll see how it goes! :)
