A quote for you.

I don't know about this one... I know that both can be HUGE time wasters if you don't use them correctly. I've had great Biblical Fellowship on both sites. I've also found out about deaths and accidents on both sites that have led me to pray for those that need of comfort. So I don't think that we should slam either of the two sites, because I think that they can both be used in good ways (just like any other website or blog). I see what he is saying here but why not name all of the other Websites, TV shows, Movies, and Books that can be time wasters?

Thanks for commenting, Johnathan! I agree with much of what you said. I don't use Twitter, but I do have a Facebook. It is such a great venue for knowing what's going on with friends and family and vice versa. In a way, it makes it more efficient, because you don't have to spend time contacting each person separately when something comes up. Really, I don't think John Piper is slamming those sites...especially if you are using them to spur you on to prayer for others, I just think he is saying to make sure to prioritize your life... and that Twitter and Facebook (however useful and effective they are) should take back burner to active pursuit of God. As long as we keep God in His rightful place, then Facebook and Twitter (I believe) are perfectly fine if used wisely.
