Julia

It's been so nice having Julia home from Bolivia. The day after she came home (April 11th) was her 20th birthday and we invited a bunch of her friends to a cookout on the field that night. lots of talking and catching up going on :)

Ironically, she was safe for three months in a different country, but the week after coming back she got into a car accident. Thankfully, she got nothing more than bruises and scrapes. not so lucky for her car....the front completely smashed in. It would cost too much to fix, so she bought a new car (which, I might add, is pretty cool) on Monday.
A few weeks ago, Julia's friend Alex told me he wanted to turn Julia's Bolivia blog into a hardback book for her birthday present. um hello, perfect idea! (this photo of them was before she left.)
He asked for my help in making it, so I've spent a lot of time putting it together and designing it. (We used a computer program called Blurb.) Last week, we submitted it online and the book came in the mail today! A couple of hours ago, Alex brought it over for Julia to open. As soon as she took off the wrapping paper and opened the cover, the tears started to come. (This was expected.) She really loves it. It brought back a lot of memories. (and I must say, it looks pretty snazzy!) I'm guessing when she's 90 years old, she'll be sitting in a rocking chair and flipping though it. :)
(I put the birthday cookout photos on the last pagespread.)
I LOVE YOU, JULIA!
cheers,
joanna
