This, my friend, was today.

Today I volunteered at the front desk of my church, mainly taking the phone calls. At the start of the day, I sometimes messed up with transferring calls to the pastors, putting people on hold, taking messages, talking too fast, the like. ha. Thank you Miriam, for helping me figure things out!! By the end of the day I think I got it down fairly well. ;-) I also priced books, labeled fliers, filed paperwork, mended video cases, and faxed papers. fun stuff. really, it was!

I'm used to coming in for building crew in a t-shirt, basketball shorts and sneakers to cart around chairs, clean bathrooms, vacuum, set-up for events, all that jazz. So it was a little weird coming in in jeans and flip-flops and sitting down the whole time doing..uh..sitting down stuff. :p

It was different, but I liked it a lot! It's a good way to get the volunteer hours for highschool. I'm trying to knock most of them out now, so I won't be scrambling to get them done senior year like Rachel!

On a different note, my home is crazy. crazyCRAZYcrazy. If an only child walked into our house, they would be blown away...like all the way to California. Like now, Rachel's pounding out a song on the piano, the boys are chasing eachother, Melody's tugging on me (sucking her thumb) trying to get away from being knocked over by them, etc. Wait, now Lydia's saying that she was chasing the boys saying that she was going to eat them. She's weird like that. Micah's singing a chorus of "AMENs" for the heck of it and Andrew's trying to teach him how to put more SOUL into it by swaying, clapping his hands, and deepening his voice a few notches. They're now doing a duet, and Melody's loudly parroting them. she's pretty soulful. oh yeah.

I have to get off now to do the dinner dishes. My dad is bringing my aunt over really soon to have dessert.

adieu.
