This is for you, Heather gal! Sorry for making you wait 6 days for an update. ;)

I started out this year taking a painting/drawing credit, but wasn't doing much with it. The first semester I pretty much just drew random eyes, fruit, flowers, and prisms, the only things I knew how to do! I also turned out a couple paintings. Big whoop! :) So at the start of this semester, we decided to switch the credit to my true love -- photography! I bought a digital point-and-shoot (a Canon A530) last March, and had been spending wayyy more time on photos than painting or drawing anyhow. By switching to photography, I can now spend time researching it to my heart's content in the name of school. Yes! =) I found a great website that has tons of tips and advice: http://www.digital-photography-school.com/ .

I might be taking a photography course next school year at a art school right near my house. My sister Mary took it when she was a highschool sophomore. She got a full scholarship once we told them how many kids we had, so I should be able to get it as well! :) I'm also planning on going to a community college in a couple years to take photography courses. These classes can give me a good foundation, but actually getting a good camera will teach me a lot, and I can experiment with perspective, angles, color modes, dadadada.

My camera has features I really like, but has limitations with what I can do. So I'd love to get a digital SLR, which would give me much more to work with, better resolution, exposures, etc. But they're expensive! I'm s-l-o-w-l-y saving up for one though. I'm willing to put money into this, since having a good camera can last me for a while. I can use it whenever, for a variety of things. I'm planning on really getting into photography in the next few years, and possibly eventually starting a small business, if people like my pictures enough.

Why do I think this topic is amazing?! I've always been very visual, and love being able to capture colors and textures, people's personalities, pretty much getting what life is like. ahhh, it's just so fun!!!

Anyhow :) I've been talking about that for a while! Can you tell I'm pumped about it?
