Cherish!

I'm starting off a series in honor of various people in my life. First will be my very, very, very good friend Cherish. She means much to me!!

When my family first came to my church, we were both nine and in Sunday School together. But we were polar opposites in many ways! Like I was loud as a foghorn and outgoing - the class sword-drill queen; she was SO quiet and shy, and only talked when the teacher asked her something. I was determined to get to know her, and it took me a little while to break the ice. But it was worth it! Once I got her talkin’, I found out that she really wasn’t a quiet, monosyllabic person, but was a blast to be around!

Over the years, we got to know each other better through the Missionettes Friends club, enrichment classes (scrapbooking, cultural studies, hospitality, church history, soccer, and many more), youth group, co-op, etc. Now we're in highschool! We go to Deluge, dissect stuff in biology, play in the women's basketball league at church, cram for American history tests, watch movies, have crazy times hanging out (like the beach trip, oh gosh!), dadada. :)

It is an absolute JOY to be friends with her. Her contagious laugh and great sense of humor; her loyalty; her sensitivity to others; how we can talk for hours, but it isn’t awkward just to be quiet; her encouragement; her unique-ness; her love for God. She’s like sunshine. :) When I’m having a bad day, Cherish can always make me laugh, no fail. I love her SO MUCH! I can't wait for the years ahead, and to see what God has planned for each of us.
